NTSL U13 E.T Squad Manager Enda Brady and his coaching team Peadar Lyons,John Gilmartin and Ronan Boyle took their N.T.S.L. U13 Emerging Talent squad to Ennis to play Clare in a friendly warm up game in preperation for the Kennedy Cup in June.In goal, Jack Brady (captain) had a quiet enough outing although when called on he was alert and always organising the team in front of him. Brady's quiet day was mainly down to the dominant North Tipperary back four. With the commanding and ever improving Conor Ryan leadingfrom the back and his powerful partnership with Jordan Lewis in the centre, the two fullbacks Willie Coffey and Dillon Walsh had license to push forward and create more attacking options and preasure while also working tirelessly to defend and hold a strong line at the back.
Early in the first half North Tipperary were awarded a penalty, Conor Maguire stepped up to hit it but the Clare goalkeeper made a great save to keep the ball out of his bottom right corner. Conor shook off the miss and went on to take charge of the midfield winning posession, breaking up play and creating goalscoring chances with his link up play and great movement on and off the ball.
Shortly after the first penalty North Tipperary were awarded another penalty. This time it was Maguires midfield partner Ryan Gilmartin who stepped up to the spot and calmly placed the ball into the bottom corner to make it 1 nil to North Tipperary.
North Tipperary then went on to pressure the Clare opposition and created chance after chance hitting the woodwork 4 to 5 times before forcing a deflectedown goal to make it 2 nil.
The workrate from the wingers Pa Ryan and Thomas Conway as well as the constant threat up front from Shane Moloney and especially Alan "mini" Sheehan had a strong resilliant Clare pushed to the limits.
All subs used played with the same tempo and desire as those they replaced and it was a good day out for North Tipperary. After the game NTSL U13 manager Enda Brady said he was delighted with the result and the continuing progress the players were showing. The team in full for the game v Clare was: Jack Brady (C), Willie Corffey,
Conor Ryan, Jordan Lewis, Dillon Walsh, Pa Ryan, Conor Maguire, Ryan Gillmartin, Thomas Conway, Shane Moloney
